Visual Angle analysis of LCD screen

The LCD liquid crystal display is a backlight type display. It does not emit light by itself. The light emitted by the backlight / backlight board behind the LCD module will inevitably cause the LCD display to have only an optimal viewing angle. face. When you look at it from other angles, because the backlight can penetrate the pixels next to it and enter the human eye, it will cause color distortion. The range without distortion is called the viewing angle. The viewing angle of the LCD screen is also divided into a horizontal viewing angle and a vertical viewing angle. The horizontal viewing angle is generally greater than the vertical viewing angle.

In life, I think everyone has noticed the LCD screen. From different perspectives, they have different effects. When viewed from the center of the display screen and a little bit from the side, the intensity of light entering the human eye is different. For the same picture, a brighter and darker light appears, that is, the contrast is different. Combined with the definition of the viewing angle, the corresponding viewing angle of the screen within the range where the contrast can be accepted by the human eye is the viewing angle.
The viewing angle of the LCD display is a headache. When the backlight passes through the polarizer, liquid crystal, and alignment layer, the output light has directionality. That is to say, most of the light is emitted vertically from the screen, so when you look at the LCD from a large angle, you can't see the original color, even only white or black.

As long as the LCD display on the market reaches 120 degrees in the horizontal viewing angle and 140 degrees in the vertical viewing angle, it can meet the application needs of most users. The new LCD panel is produced with wide viewing angle technology, which can reach a viewing angle of 140 degrees up and down and 150 degrees left and right, reducing the inconvenience caused by the viewing angle of the LCD LCD screen being too small. Of course, this performance is incomparable to the 180-degree viewing angle of CRT displays, but it is more than enough for most applications.
